NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Sporting BluesThe 11th Annual NSW CCC Blues evening was held at Our Lady of Mercy College, Parramatta on Thursday 21 February. The evening involved the presentation of awards to elite students in all sports across NSW Catholic Secondary Schools and Colleges. Over 62 students were recognised on the evening with 7 students from the Wollongong Diocese acknowledged. Students from Wollongong, their schools and their sport are listed below. Jayden Dalllana (Holy Spirit College, Bellambi) – Rugby Union Lomana Fagatuai (John Therry Catholic High, Rosemeadow) – Athletics Te Haumi Maxwell (Edmund Rice College, Wollongong) – Swimming Ryan Murphy (St. John The Evangelist, Nowra) – Volleyball Fiona Sparks (St. Mary’s College, Wollongong) – Basketball Nicole Styles (John Therry Catholic High, Rosemeadow) – Netball Chloe Tighe (St. Patrick’s College, Campbelltown) - Athletics The two highest achieving boys and girls from each sport are judged by the NSW CCC Blues committee taking into account their 2007 achievements which involves NSW CCC, NSW All Schools and Australian representation. Louise Winchester, a current Australian Touch player, was the guest speaker on the evening and provided some powerful messages to the audience of over 200.
